Ilka Kraske is a jazz piano teacher at the University of Music in Dresden and pianist with heart and soul.
Ilka has been playing the piano since she was seven years old. After completing her piano and music education studies, she continued her career as a lecturer at the University of Music in Dresden. In addition to her work as a piano teacher, as well as a workshop and music ensemble coach, Ilka has been involved since 1995 in the scoring of theater plays.
As a solo artist and as part of music ensembles, she gained experience in the youth jazz orchestra of Saxony, as well as musical groups such as the duo Kraske-Skulski playing after the conference. In her own trio, Ilka interprets great traditional jazz pieces and complements them with compositions of the group — classic swinging jazz-standards follow pieces of modern sound aesthetics.
Ilka has a very personal relationship with jazz music. After 30 years of playing the piano, jazz offers her endless possibilities to reinterpret and develop her attachment to music through exchanges with colleagues and students.
