Fatema Darbar is working for the international talent-project intap Dresden as a community and event specialist.
Fatema moved to Dresden in 2014 and conducted several diverse events like the Stammtisch for the city. Bringing people together under various settings and giving people a chance to network and connect brought her most joy. She continued organising more structured events that involved discussions and learning about various cultures, art galleries etc in her second event series called the “TU Mixer” with the Diversity Management Department of Technische Universität Dresden. She is currently working as a Community and Event Specialist with intap (Internationales Talenteprojekt für Dresden), helping to connect international students with the local industry in Dresden. She also enjoys dancing, has conducted several Bollywood dance workshops and is a certified Mawiba dance trainer in Dresden.
Fatema was born in 1988 in a small village called Sidhpur in the west of India (Gujarat). She and her family moved to Hyderabad in the south where she pursued most of her education including Business administration and Marketing at the ICFAI University. From early on she was part of an NGO called Make A Difference that catered to underprivileged children in orphanages in India. She taught English in orphanages and also lead the Public Relations department of the NGO. In Bangalore she helped set up libraries for orphanages and continued teaching English to children. After having lived in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Düsseldorf, Fatema finally calls Dresden her home and has found a unique sense of freedom here that she found nowhere else.
